DESCRIPTION:\nThursday, December 3 | 6pm | 107 S. Kedzie Hall\n\n\n\nDavid Young Kim is an art historian of the early modern period in a global context. His research equally engages with theories of art, historiography, and film. While his seminal books on the traveling artist and on groundwork in the Renaissance have opened new fields of inquiry, his current project deals with the translations of Vasari’s famous sixteenth-century biographies of artists in Korea. All are welcome to attend this lecture!\n\n\n\nAll events are sponsored by the Department of Art, Art History, and Design along with the College of Arts & Letters, the Office of the Provost, along with the MSU Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at MSU, MSU Digital Humanities, The Beal Botanical Garden and Arboretum, and the MSU Libraries.\n\n\n\nAdditional sponsors include the Luther and Louise Roehm Endowment and the Marlio Endowment and our primary sponsor the late Stanley & Selma Hollander.\n
