Type, Set, Press!
Letterpress Group Exhibition
SCENE Metrospace | January 16-February 16
Reception: Friday, January 31, 10am-noon
Type, Set, Press! features letterpress prints from students and faculty at Michigan State University and members of the Monks and Friars Chapel based in Detroit, Michigan. The work exhibited explores the breadth of letterpress printing ranging from personal greeting cards, calendars, to commentary on environmental, political, and personal narratives through the combination of visual and written language. Collaboration is celebrated throughout the show. Prints were often made in the classroom or shared studio spaces – the exhibition showcases the unique and tight-knit sense of community fostered by the love of print.
