Kristin Arola, Intersectional Environmental Feminisms Research Workshop (IEF)

Join IEF as we welcome Dr. Kristin Arola present a talk based on her recent work “Rhetorical New Materialism: Conversations toward a Future New Materialism across Boundaries.” Dr. Arola is the Karen L. Gillmor Endowed Associate Professor of Public and Professional Writing in the Department of Writing, Rhetoric and Cultures at Michigan State University where she also serves as the Interim Director of the American Indian and Indigenous Studies Program. Through her mother, she is a first-generation descendant of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Lake Superior Band of Chippewa Indians. Her research and teaching are rooted in Ojibwe community practices, histories, and futures. Specifically, she looks at how indigenous knowledge systems help re-imagine problem solving, research practices, and writing pedagogies.
