Explorations with the Chair! Amy Derogatis
THE END OF THE WORLD IN 1843.. No, 1844!
Join Dr. Amy DeRogatis, Chair of the Religious Studies Department, exploring the material culture artifacts of a 19th-century revivalist movement that predicted the end of the world in 1843 and then recalculated to 1844. We will examine the artifacts in the MSU Museum storage facility and discuss this fascinating group and the leader’s failed attempts to date the end of the world.
There is space for 10 students. Please contact the Religious Studies office to sign up. 353.2930.
