A story of triumph, Mr. Armstrong fought the Israeli Interior Ministry for his right to make aliyah. Throughout his journey, he received support and help from the White House Jewish liaison, many US ambassadors and philanthropists. Mr. Armstrong was granted citizenship…but not as a Jew.

Jared Armstrong is a Jewish-American professional basketball player in Israel. He currently plays for Maccabi Rishon – Lezion, one of the most prestigious clubs in Israel. Jared was born to a Jewish mother, and raised to a Jewish family in Philadelphia. At the age of 24, Mr. Armstrong fought against the Israeli government (Ministry of Interior) for his right to return to his homeland. Throughout his journey, Mr. Armstrong received national media attention, as well as help from politicians, ambassadors and philanthropists to help him make aliyah. Mr. Armstrong is a graduate of Slippery Rock University, where he holds a bachelor degree in Fitness Management. Also, Mr. Armstrong runs his own basketball training company called “Who Would of Thought Enterprises” which is a community based platform to help players of all ages achieve their goals throughout their career.
