Local Sources: an exhibit of zines, prints, and books
October 3-19 | Reception and Read for Your Rights Event: October 3, 6-8pm
(SCENE) Metrospace | 110 Charles St. East Lansing, MI
Local Sources features prints and publications from Michigan creators whose works demonstrate the resilience that can be found in non-traditional publishing. Ranging from broadsides to booklets, from essays to comic books and posters, creators are able to share their most personal stories while resisting the sometimes fickle permission structures of larger institutions. Viewers may hold and directly engage with some of the media on exhibit and are encouraged to ask what unique knowledge and ideas they hold that could benefit their communities.
Artists Featured: Alex Vlasov, Arie Koelewyn, Ashley “Galaxy” Adams, CaraMia Bertoni, Catzian Maris, Chris Mattei, Dennis Hinrichsen, Dylan A.T.
