Machine of Flames: Broad Underground Film Screening

The Broad Underground Film Series will be presenting Machine in Flames on Friday, October 13 at 7pm in B122 Wells Hall. The Broad Underground is an ongoing collaboration between the MSU Broad Art Museum and the Film Studies Program, Department of English at Michigan State University. As a member of The Destructionist International, Andrew Culp creates film and other media. He is co-director and co-writer of Machine in Flames (2022, 50 min), the film uncovers a secret history of computational destruction in 1980s Toulouse. It has been screened more than 50 times across the globe. This film was directed by Andrew Culp and Thomas Dekeyser.
Following the film, there will be a Q+A with filmmaker Andrew Culp and Zach Kaiser, Associate Professor of Graphic Design and Experience Architecture at Michigan State University, to follow. This program is in collaboration with the Department of Art, Art History, and Design at Michigan State University, and Digital Humanities at Michigan State University
