Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences

Mid-SURE 2022 will be a hybrid event with both in-person and virtual poster presentations on July 27th from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (tentative). The event is free and open to the public.

Students must register to present by June 22nd at 11:59 PM Eastern. Registration ensures a slot in the preferred category, and location. Abstracts do not need to be complete at the time of registration. Final edits to your registration and abstract will be due July 1. MSU students must complete Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training by July 21. Virtual presentations must be submitted to the online event site by July 25 due to event logistics. Late registrations will be placed in a virtual section unless openings are available elsewhere at the event.

MSU undergraduate researchers, visiting students participating in research at MSU, and students from regional institutions are eligible to present at the Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences (Mid-SURE). Current MSU students and May 2022 graduates are also eligible to present at Mid-SURE. Incoming MSU students (first year or transfer) who complete New Student Orientation (NSO) before July 27th may participate as well. This event provides an opportunity for students involved in research and creative activities at Michigan State and select institutions to share their work with their peers, faculty, and external audiences.

All stages of research and creative scholarship are welcomed–from preliminary to capstone projects and everywhere in between! Research and creative activity conducted during courses, internship/REU, Education Abroad, or community-based participatory research are also accepted. Research is a process. Share with the university community where you are in that process when you present at Mid-SURE.
