Open Science 101

Interested in Open Science, and want to know where to start? Come join Prof. Paula Winke and the SLA Knowledge and Production Lab to get a walk-through on the basics of Open Science. Attend in person (B342 Wells) or online. Dr. Winke will review things like setting up your researcher Social Security number (ORCID), your researcher passport (on a venue such as the Open Science Framework), and self-publishing your research protocol or proposal (as a preregistration). We will review data publications (on Open ICPSR, for example), and materials publications (on Humanities Commons or in IRIS, for example). We will go over elements such as pre-prints, Registered Reports, and how (and why) to do Open Science with both confirmatory and exploratory research. Anyone at any stage of research experience is welcome to attend. All questions are welcome. MA students thinking of doing a thesis and those just learning about Open Science are especially encouraged to come.
