Popping Up: Jackalope Live in Concert
When 2020 coronavirus pandemic conditions forced closure of bars, restaurants and other indoor entertainment venues, Lansing based band, Jackalope, shifted to socially-distanced outdoor neighborhood “pop-up” concerts, sharing music and community with fans in safe outdoor settings. Setting up in back yards, street corners, cul-de-sacs, outdoor pub patios, etc., the group played for live audiences over a dozen times from May through December, 2020. Rolling into their ninth year performing together as a band, Jackalope is a collaboration of singer songwriter/guitarist Charlie Richardson, bassist/vocalist Mike Lawrence, drummer/saxophonist David Stowe and vocalist Diana Farmer. The band will share favorite song originals and classic covers as they recount how Jackalope survived and thrived musically during the pandemic.
