Roundtable: Teaching the Holocaust Through Personal Documents

This roundtable will consist of a group of scholars engaged in researching and teaching with various types of personal documents from the Holocaust, including memoirs, diaries, and photographs. They will share their experiences and techniques using these documents in the classroom and lead an open discussion about pedagogical approaches to teaching the Holocaust from multiple disciplinary perspectives.

Dr. Barry Trachtenberg, Professor, Rubin President Chair of Jewish History, Wake Forest University.

Dr. Katheryn Sederberg, Lucinda Hinsdale Stone Associate Professor of German Studies Chair, German Studies Department, Kalamazoo College.

Dr. Abigail Lewis, Director of Undergraduate Studies, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Nanovic Institute for European Studies, University of Notre Dame.

There will be ample time for questions and discussion.
