Translation Flow: Workflow and Process

Many profession translation studies programs often consider the translation process and the technology used by professionals separately. This presentation examines one professional’s workflow, demonstrating how technique and technology can integrate to support the state of concentration referred to as flow, promoting both productivity and pleasure.

Bio: Caitilin Walsh is an ATA-Certified French-English translator specializing in software and gastronomy and a translator educator. A past president of the American Translators Association, she works on a local and national scale to bring organizations and institutions together to create and illuminate educational pathways for emerging bilinguals seeking to use their skills in rewarding careers. She brings her strong opinions on professionalism as an instructor in the Translation and Interpreting certificate at Bellevue College in Washington State and the Masters program in Translation at New York University.
